ZG26´s view on 14th ADW

Сообщение ZG26-Ruhland » 23 апр 2012, 15:53

This was the first time my squadron flew unified on ADW. We flew with mixed players from other german squads in the KG+QL before. The last four months were very interesting, funny but also a bit frustrating at the same time. So here is our short summary on this war:

Planesets
The Hs129 helped alot and I hope it will stay a replacement aircraft in the next war. It made it alot more interesting for bombers and destroyer-squads.
The fighter planesets are equal overall because the upper hand changes from time to time. Nothing to change from our point of view.

Players
We met several friendly people we want to thank, like Wecker, Superbob, Lancer, the JgFF-squad and few others. Also I want to thank RedEye for very nice and intense fights. I am sad that the guys from 335th flew on red side this war, these guys often saved our bombers in the last war.
The coordination was not always the best on the blue side, but I don´t wonder because most of the other players didn´t speak english, and we don´t speak russian. :D Anyway, the blue players made their way by talking with "hands and legs". On the other hand it´s very sad that most of the blue players quit the war in the middle like they were afraid of evil "Super-Rata" La5 or kamikaze-pilots with low shooting skills like Makarov. I think it´s just lame to quit the war when the other side gets stronger planes.
One thing about shooting chutes. Flying on the ADW sometimes reminds me on playing Counter-Strike with 14 years old kids, because some pilots here act exactly like them. I understand that some pilots shoot the enemy pilots parachute if the enemy is in the majority and the enemy bails over his territory, but there is absolutely no need to shoot the enemy parachute or plane that makes an emergency landing in your own territory. The planes is lost, the pilot is killed and the victory is counted anyway, so why go on shooting? I don´t dare to tell anyone what he has to do or not to do, but think about it. It´s a game and we all like filled servers. Screwing up people by bad behaviour and killing parachutes makes a server empty.

Maps
Here we got angry sometimes. We know the DCG-system and it´s problems from first hand, but some maps are totally screwed. Blue had very strong and active bomber squads this war, but still the blue side lost and sometimes a map was won by red within days (except Stalingrad summer, where blue won within days). I flew nearly daily in this war, but I have not a single sortie on Prokhorovka 43 or Kursk 43, so fast these maps were won by red. Some people said that there are different amounts of supply for each side on each map. If it´s true, I don´t wonder that Blue lost Berlin 45 even though they destroyed thousand of tons more than Red. Very frustrating, it feels like the reds have less work to do to win a map.
I don´t know what kind of experiences the ADW-admins made to use different amounts of supply, but from my point of view ressources should be equal on all maps. We had many discussions about these things and our conclusion is that the red side is in advantage on the most maps, so it is easier for Red to win the ADW than for Blue.

Nonetheless we want to thank all other players for good flights and especially the ADW-crew for running such a nice server. We really enjoyed flying here most of the time. The ZG26 won´t fly as a division again next war, but this has nothing to do with these things I just mentioned. We just want to search for new challenges and some of our pilots will stay active on ADW as part of the german KG+QL.

Thank you for your opinion, it is very valuable!
First of all, I want to say that each card both sides get the same amount of resources!
It would not be fair to give a different count!

Another important point, which you quite rightly pointed out, this is a big part of blue care pilots in '43.
Until they left the reds did not have a chance to win!
My opinion is that their departure was a turning point in 14 of the company.

It was nice to see you in the air and hope to see you again!

Hey there Ruhland,

335th chose to fly red this war to experience from first hand the war from a Red point of view.
It was interesting,we met new challenges, saw the difficulties red pilots have to face, but the conclusion is the same as you mentioned......
We change to our "original" (blue) colors next war mate, hope to see (and escort) a lot of you guys again,ADW needs you.... :bravo:

Horrido!
