I'm not quite sure but seems possible.
Hypothetical algorithm.1. be sure that your squadron have possibility to choose bonus planes.
2. Enter in squadron control panel.
3. Don't press [PLANESET RESET] button!
4. For checking press [BONUS PLENES] button.
you can see active pilots quantity in sub-menu
5. Choosing bonus planeset as you want. You will get quantity of bonus planes equal to quantity of active pilots
6. Right after the first bonus plane sortie the points counter will start run.
7. So, all bonus planes lost - you have 48.77 points (for example)
8. If you will
do nothing you continue at current map with reserve planeset (quantity of planes equal to initial max quantity of pilots)
The next map you will proceed with regular planeset chosen after qualifying, quantity of planes will be the same.
But if you will reset planeset, increase max quantity of squadron pilots according to points you have (for example 4pilots => 12pilots 12x4=48 < 48,77 seems OK)
And choose new planeset. Next mission you ready to fly at new planeset with increased quantity of pilots.
Seems must work
P/S max quantity of pilots in squadron possible to change 1 time. If this change was done during qualifying (for example) above procedure doesn't work.
