The banners, under which armies were lead by the Prime Evils, have absorbed the magical energy emanations of these legendary creatures. Patient adventurers can obtain these banners and use the powers bestowed in them for their benefit.
To call upon the banners, one may use the Horadric Cube. These are the secret formulas:

11 Hadriel Flag = 1 Duriel Flag
12 Hadriel Flag = 1 Mephisto Flag


The Banners will be invoked directly to the caller’s inventory or on the ground next to him, if the inventory is full.
To release the banner's energy, one may use the power of the Horadric Cube.
Duriel Flag’s energy allows to enhance the properties of the weapons. To enhance your weapon, put it on the ground near yourself, and mix the following ingredients in the Cube:

Note: Manald Heal and Nagelring are not considered as unique rings.

To release the energy of the banner, you character must be at least level 66 on hell difficulty.
Only unique and set weapons can be upgraded with the exception of the following ones:

Any Death's Fathom
Any Deaths's Web
Any The Reaper's Toll
Ethereal Tomb Reaver

Each weapon can’t be enhanced with the banner’s energy more than once. Socket status (
along with the items in those sockets) remains untouched.
Weapon enhancements with Duriel Flag don’t affect the possibility of upgrading the weapons via the Cube (Normal -> Exceptional и Exceptional -> Elite) and vice versa.
There are certain rules to the weapon enhancement system one should be aware of – level requirements are increased by 6, and weapon itself becomes impossible to be sold or put in the trade window.
Warning!!! After enhancing the weapon with the energy of the Duriel Flag, it can no longer be put in Larzuk’s socket adding window, or Anya’s personalize window. Therefore you must perform these operations beforehand.

Below will be the list of the rules that apply to weapon enhancement (“If item has” applies only to the item’s properties, not to the items in sockets or set bonuses):

- If item has Adds X-Y Z Damage, where Z - Fire, Cold, Lightning, Poison or Magic, then its value will be doubled.
- If item has hidden Increased Cold Length, then the value of this property will be increased by 3 seconds.
- If item has +X to Attack Rating, then its value will be increased by 100-150 (randomly).
- If item has X% Bonus To Attack Rating, then its value will be increased by 20-40.
- If item has X To Attack Rating (Based On Character Level), then its value will be increased 1.1875 times.
- If item has X To Attack Rating against Undead, X To Attack Rating against Demons, X To Attack Rating against Undead (Based On Character Level) or X To Attack Rating against Demons (Based On Character Level), then its value will be doubled.
- If item has +X% Damage To Undead, +X% Damage To Demons, +X% Damage To Undead (Based On Character Level) or +X% Damage To Demons (Based On Character Level), then its value will be increased 1.8125 times.
- If item has Damage +Х, then its value will be increased 1.125 times, and 40 will be added to the result.
- If item has +X To Minimum Damage, +X To Maximum Damage or Adds x-y Damage, then its value will be increased 1.5 times.
- If item has +Х% Enhanced Maximum Damage (Based On Character Level), then its value will be increased 1.25 times.
- If item has +X To Maximum Damage (Based On Character Level), then if its value will be lower than 2.5 per level, its value increases 1.5 times, otherwise its value will be increased by 0.25 of the damage by per level.
- If item has +X% Enhanced Defense, then its value will be increased by 40-50.
- If item has +X Defense, then its value will be increased by 200-300.
- If item has +X Defense Vs. Missile or +X Defense vs. Melee, then its value will be increased by 400-600.
- If item has Damage Reduced By X%, then its value will be increased by 20-25.
- If item has Damage Reduced By X or Magic Damage Reduced By, then its value will be increased by 10-15.
- If item has +X To Strength, +X To Dexterity, +X To Vitality, +X To Energy or +X To All Attributes, then its value will be increased by 5.
- If item has +X To Strength (Based On Character Level) or +X To Vitality (Based On Character Level), then its value will be doubled.
- If item has +X Life or +X To Mana, then its value will be increased by 10-15.
- If item has +X To Life (Based On Character Level) or +X To Mana (Based On Character Level), then its value will be increased 1.25 times.
- If item has Increase Maximum Life X%, then its value will be increased by 20-30.
- If item has Increase Maximum Mana X%, and the value of this property does not exceed 10 and given weapon is not a Wand, then the value of this property will be increased by 5.
- If item has X% Life Stolen Per Hit or X% Mana Stolen Per Hit, then its value will be increased by 1.
- If item has +X Life After Each Kill, +X Life After Each Demon Kill or +X To Mana After Each Kill, then its value will be increased by 1-2.
- If item has X% Damage Taken Goes To Mana, then its value will be increased by 10-25.
- If item has Replenish Life +X, then its value will be increased by 6-10.
- If item has Regenerate Mana X%, then its value will be increased by 4-5.
- If item has X% Faster Cast Rate and its value does not exceed 20, then its value will be increased by 5.
- If Unique item has X% Faster Run/Walk, then its value will be increased by 30-40. On the Set item 15-20% Faster Run/Walk will always be added, with the exception of Immortal King's Stone Crusher, on which 5% Faster Run/Walk will be added.
- If item has -X% Target Defense, then its value will be increased by 5-6.
- If item has X% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items, then its value will be increased 1.5 times, 15 will be added to the result.
- If item has X% Extra Gold From Monsters, then its value will be increased 1.5 times, 50 will be added to the result.
- If item simultaneously has Fire Resist X%, Cold Resist X%, Lightning Resist X% и Poison Resist X% or All Resistances +X, then the values of this properties will be increased by 5, otherwise the value of each property Y Resist X% will be increased by 10-12.
- If item has Fires Explosive Arrows Or Bolts or Fires Magic Arrows, then its value will be increased by 8.
- If one-handed weapon has X% Chance of Crushing Blow, then its value will be increased by 2-3. 3% Chance of Crushing Blow will always be added on the two-handed weapon.
- If item has X% Deadly Strike, then its value will be increased by 4-6.
- If item has X% Deadly Strike (Based On Character Level), then its value will be increased 1.25 times.
- If item has X% Chance of Open Wounds, then its value will be increased by 2-3.
- If item has Freezes Target +X, then its value will be increased by 3-4.
- If item has +X To All Skills and given weapon is not a Wand, then its value will be increased by 1.
- If item has +X To Fire Skills, then its value will be increased by 1.
- If item has +X To [Skill Name] ([Class Name] Only), then its value will be increased by 1.
- If item has +X To [Class Name] Skill Levels and given weapon is not Class-specific or Scepter, then its value will be increased by 1.
- If item has +X To [Skill Tab Name] ([Class Name] Only) and given weapon is not Class-specified or Wand, then its value will be increased by 1.
- If item has Level X [Skill Name] (Z charges), then the skill level will be increased by 1, and number of charges by 8.
- If item has X% Chance To Cast Level Y [Skill Name] On Striking, X% Chance To Cast Level Y [Skill Name] On Attack or X% Chance To Cast Level Y [Skill Name] When You Kill An Enemy, then if [Skill Name] – skill has a Delay, then its level will be increased by 8, otherwise skill level will be increased by 5, and chance to cast by 3.

After the weapon’s properties were modified +X To [Skill Name] ([Class Name] Only) will be additionally added.
The type of this skill depends on the character who enhances the weapon:
- Amazon gets (randomly) Dodge, Avoid, Evade or Valkyrie
- Sorceress - Static Field, Warmth or Frozen Armor.
- Necromancer - Bone Armor or Golem Mastery.
- Paladin - Holy Bolt (if Holy Bolt base level is not lower than 15) or Zeal (if Zeal base level is not lower than 15)
- Barbarian gets Iron Skin or Weapon Mastery, whichever one’s base level is not lower than 15.
- Druid - Lycanthropy (if Lycanthropy base level is not lower than 15) or Oak Sage, or Summon Grizzly.
- Assassin - Shadow Master (if Shadow Master base level is not lower than 1), if given weapon is not class specific. X = 1 with a 90% and X = 2 with a 10%.

After that +X% Enhanced Damage and X% Increased Attack Speed properties will be added to item if it is not Wand or Orb.

- If weapon is - Assassin Claws, then by 5-15% Increased Attack Speed will be added.
- If weapon is - Bow or Crossbow, then 15-25% Increased Attack Speed will be added.
- If weapon is - Two-handed Sword, then 15-25% Increased Attack Speed will be added.
- If weapon is - Set Hammer, then by 3-13% Increased Attack Speed will be added.
- If weapon is - Set Mace, then 20-30% Increased Attack Speed will be added.
If weapon does not belong to the stated types, then on the one-handed weapon 10-20% Increased Attack Speed will be added, on the two-handed - 20-30% Increased Attack Speed.

If item has no more than +100% Enhanced Damage, then 180-220% Enhanced Damage will be added on it, otherwise:
- If item is not an Assassin Claws, then if its wsm <= -15, 20-30% Enhanced Damage will be added, otherwise if its wsm <= -10, 10-20% Enhanced Damage will be added.
- If item is a one-handed Unique, then 100-120% Enhanced Damage will be added.
- If item is two-handed or Set, then by 150-180% Enhanced Damage will be added, with the exception of Set Hammer, on which 100-150% Enhanced Damage will be added.

Attention! Each item property has a certain cap, therefore in some cases the growth of the properties may be lower than expected.

Glossary:
-“Base skill level” – the number of real points invested in certain skill.
-“wsm” – weapon speed modifier. It can be seen on the Arreat Summit or similar sources. It is usually concluded in square brackets and signed as “Weapon Speed”.
